MOSCOW (Reuters) – Leonid Volkov, a close ally of the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, said that a protest called for March 17, the final day of Russia’s presidential election, would be Navalny’s “last testament”.
Navalny died in an Arctic penal colony on Feb. 16. In a post on social media on Feb. 1, he had urged Russians to register a protest against President Vladimir Putin by all turning out to vote at the same time, at noon.
